September 29th 2017, London: Magic Light Pictures, owners of the hugely successful Gruffalo’s licensing programme, will make its appearance at Europe’s busiest licensing show.
The impressive consumer products portfolio has grown strategically with long-term agent CAA-GBG over the last 8 years in the UK, as the company continues to expand through brand partnerships and a best in class licensing programme.

March saw the opening of the first Gruffalo theme park attraction at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, and our ground-breaking Augmented Reality app ‘Gruffalo Spotter’ has enjoyed over 370,000 downloads. The licensing programme continues to grow in new categories, expanding our reach to wider audiences. It’s the right time to be exhibiting at BLE to share our successes with the industry.’
The Highway Rat, which premieres this Christmas on BBC One will be showcased at B.L.E. along with family favourites The Gruffalo’s Child, Room of the Broom and Stick Man, all based on the award-winning picture books written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.
To further support the team and its ambitious growth plans, Magic Light has appointed Aidan Taylor-Gooby as Licensing Manager to develop licensing opportunities around existing and forthcoming IPs. Aidan joins Magic Light Pictures with an enviable track record, having latterly managed licensing programmes for One Direction and Little Mix at Modest! Management.
Magic Light is also welcoming conversations with international agents, distributors and licensees at the event on the back of the licensing programme gaining real momentum in Germany and an ambitious growth strategy for international markets.
